About Anthony- as written by Rebecca

Anthony is outgoing, patient, hard-working, thoughtful, and kind. He has an iconic laugh that comes easy and often and has uncanny dad humor. He's always there to lend a hand to a friend in need and never one to complain. He is a leader in the community and in his job as a director of human resources in the healthcare industry. He has turned his passion for building things into helping developing people, aiding in the launch of a women and family care clinic in Detroit.

He likes to volunteer as a lector at...

About Big Brother, Isaac

Isaac is a curious and happy toddler, an observant and quick learner, and likes to be silly when he knows he’s got a good audience. He loves playing with his cousins and is going to be a great older brother. With his younger cousins he is gentle and interested, finds toys to share with them, lets the little ones pile on him as he laughs, and gets out his favorite books to “read” to them. He enjoys music, singing, and dancing, and he’ll take the cousins by the hand, as he does us, to show them how to do it, too. He is biracial, and...

Our Home

We have moved into our ‘forever’ home and we are beyond excited to share it with our growing family and friends. We built the home from the ground up, and it has everything we could want – a kitchen full of light, tall ceilings, big bedrooms, offices, and nooks to find quiet places to read and play, and a great fenced yard and covered patio to relax when the weather is nice. It was fun to design Isaac’s room and the future nursery. When we moved in, we didn’t have any furniture in the family room, and Isaac enjoyed turning it...

Our Family

Our family is large, loving, and loud; "the more the merrier" may be our unofficial motto. Rebecca is the oldest of six kids. The majority of her 28 cousins (and their families) live nearby. Anthony has an older sister, and two of his cousins’ families live nearby. Growing up, our cousins were our best friends, our parents were our coaches and scout leaders, and our backdoors were never locked because there was always someone going in or out. Our large family means over-the-top holidays and celebrations filled with traditions, presents and treats;...

Our Hobbies and Interests

We are grateful to have both shared and individual interests. Rebecca gravitates to anything artistic or creative. She loves to paint, draw, and garden. She shares these passions by planning parties, sewing costumes, and doing favors for friends and family. Anthony is a sports nut; he reads about them, watches them, and plays them. He even combines his gift for teaching and his love of sports by giving various lessons to Isaac, neighborhood kids, nieces, and nephews. We look forward to introducing a child to our passions and encouraging them to find some of...

Thank you

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about our family and thank you for the courage and love necessary to bring a beautiful baby into the world.

We look forward to taking part in another child’s laughter, comforting their tears, and soaking up their cuddles. We can’t wait to share our lives with another child, and we promise to give them all we have: love, encouragement and acceptance, a nurturing, healthy lifestyle, a strong and diverse education, a foundation in faith, a large extended...
